ESG Launches a New Website
The Experimental Study Group (ESG) recently launched a major update to their website (esg.mit.edu). Redesigned specifically to appeal to prospective first-year students, the new site offers a glimpse into the ESG experience, from taking GIRs and p-setting as a first year, to TAing classes from sophomore year on, to exploring individual interests through a final project, teaching a seminar, or a public service fellowship. ESG’s experimentation with how the MIT first-year curriculum can be taught and learned is also a focus, offering a brief introduction to many of our educational pilots.
The website content is presented through an interactive design that reflects the ethos of the program (rigorous academics in a fun and caring environment). The website redesign team included Wing Ngan as designer, Sean Walther as developer, Linda Walsh as editor, Graham Ramsay as photographer/videographer, and Bettina McGimsey as writer. We thank the many students and staff who contributed to the website’s development over the past year.
