On January 9 and 10, the Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) engaged in a two-day retreat at the MIT Endicott House. The retreat offered an ideal combination of team bonding and strategic planning. Through a series of engaging team-building activities, we forged stronger connections, laying the foundation for a more collaborative and supportive work environment. The first evening culminated in a team photo, capturing the spirit of unity in our MIT gear.

The following day, the wonderful Erik Pavesic from CAPD facilitated a fabulous session on CliftonStrengths. His presentation not only deepened awareness of our own strengths, but allowed us to understand team members’ strengths, communication preferences, and working styles. We highly recommend connecting with Erik if your team is interested in learning more about CliftonStrengths. His presentation was thoughtful, engaging, and very helpful to our team. Thank you again, Erik!

The UAC team

The team engaged in intentional strategic planning sessions, where we discussed the UAC vision and objectives, and strategized on goals and next steps for further establishing the UAC.

While the retreat was purposeful and strategic, it was also fun! Games, socializing, and a generally relaxed atmosphere created moments of joy and camaraderie, fostering a more positive and energized team spirit. The UAC left the MIT Endicott House not only as a more connected and cohesive unit but also with a roadmap for success and a shared commitment to the journey ahead.

In additional news, the UAC is excited to announce a preview of our spring 2024 programming schedule. We will continue to update programs and events on the UAC website. While these events are geared towards undergraduate students, our OVC colleagues are always welcome to stop by!
