Dear Colleagues,
Please save the date. This year’s Campus Preview Weekend (CPW) will take place Thursday, April 13 through Sunday, April 16, 2023.
CPW is key in attracting the best and brightest to MIT and helps to sustain our vibrant and diverse undergraduate community. Over the course of 3.14 days students will immerse themselves in classes, labs, groups, and residence halls. Last spring, we welcomed over 950 admitted students for CPW.
Moreover, our undergraduates proved instrumental in accommodating and sharing the true MIT experience. Over 1,103 of them registered to host a student, dozens helped our Admissions Office, and countless more orchestrated nearly 650 events.
With that in mind, I would like to ask two things of you.
- First, look for opportunities to welcome our future first-year students, and consider opening your classrooms, labs, facilities, and departments.
- Second, think of CPW when planning exams and deadlines for the spring semester, and consider offering flexibility so our students have the time to best support this event.
Our post-CPW survey revealed that two-thirds of our newly admitted students had only one thought on their mind after CPW: they could not wait to be part of our academic community. Ultimately, eight of every ten students who attend CPW will join our community.
