Infinite Mile Awards Nominations Deadline is March 15!
OVC’s Infinite Mile Award Program is an opportunity to recognize individual employees and teams who have shown excellence; to foster an environment of commitment to shared success; and to showcase employee achievement. Every employee in OVC, Chancellor’s Office, Mind Heart Hand and Title IX has an opportunity to contribute to the recognition of their peers through the annual nomination and selection process.
Please consider nominating a colleague or a team you feel deserves recognition! Details about the nomination process, sample nominations, and the nomination form are available on the OVC Infinite Mile Awards page (login required).
The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 15. And please save the date for the awards ceremony and celebration on Monday, June 10, 3-5 pm.
Reminder: MIT Offers a Paid Parental Leave Benefit
MIT provides up to 20 days of paid parental leave to eligible new parents, including birth mothers, spouses, domestic partners, and parents through surrogacy, adoption or foster placement. The leave may be taken within 6 months following the birth of a baby, or adoption or placement of a child under 18. This enhanced paid parental leave is available to non-faculty benefits-eligible staff – support, administrative, sponsored research staff, other academic, and medical employees – after 1 year of benefits-eligible service. Service staff should review their collective bargaining agreements regarding all leave benefits. Details on the application of this policy to postdoctoral associates and fellows may be found here. Note that separate policies apply to faculty (see Section 7.5.2 and Section 7.5.3 of MIT’s Policies & Procedures site).
We are delighted to have this opportunity to further expand MIT’s benefits to new parents in our community. For a comprehensive outline of this and other new parent benefits for MIT employees, including resources and services, visit the Parental Leave section of the HR website.
If you have any questions about the Paid Parental Leave benefit, please contact Kristin McCoy.
